Final Delivery Integrating Project

Have you asked yourself, what is evaluation? What is formative evaluation? What are the
types of evaluation? You are in the right place, I invite you to watch this video and learn about some assessment instruments that you could use in your class, as well as a strategy based on assigning badges.

Secondary teacher, have you found yourself in the uncomfortable situation in which your students do not deliver homework or assignments, or do not achieve the objectives set out in your didactic sequence? We understand what happens to you, that is why here we propose the following solutions within the framework of formative assessment.

'' At present, the importance of the purpose of classroom assessment being to improve student learning and performance by constantly creating better opportunities to learn, based on the results they obtain in each one of the evaluations they present during a school year. It means leaving behind the sanctioning role and the exclusively conclusive or summative nature of the learning evaluation, by one more interested in knowing why students make mistakes or have flaws so that, once the causes have been identified, it is possible to help them overcome them. This is what we have called the formative approach to the evaluation of learning '' (Ministry of Public Education, 2011).

For this reason, we propose to evaluate the activities using an instrument that serves as a guide in the evaluation of the achievement of learning by the students, the choice of the evaluation instrument is based on the activity to be carried out, and must to make themselves known to the student prior to the explanation of the task. Without leaving aside, the skills, attitudes and values; basic elements of the curriculum, which will be evaluated in a formative way, that is, during the process in which the didactic sequence is given. It will be done by earning badges throughout the session.

The teacher will create the badges based on the activity to be carried out, as well as the achievements to be achieved based on skills, attitudes and values. In case the activity involves a strategy such as collaborative work, you can also allocate badges for socialization and communication within the team. The badges must have a value, which is added with the different badges and their respective scores. The badges for better benefit can be related to the final grade of the work, adding or increasing tenths of a point in case of acquiring more than the previously established points.

Next, an instrument is exemplified, to carry out an evaluation of the exclusively expected learning, it is a checklist that serves the student and the teacher as a guide to recognize its efficiency in the teaching-learning process. In a joint way, the student receives feedback from each aspect, making known their areas for improvement.

As already mentioned, we also propose a virtual ranking, in which different badges are assigned depending on the task completed, the badges have a value in stars, which give a total of one hundred forty stars. They are oriented to be obtained throughout the development of the Community Project that the students carry out and has to do with the acquisition of skills, attitudes, values and basic characteristics of teamwork.

By implementing this formative assessment strategy, the teacher can motivate students to deliver homework and activities, as they will be rewarded for their effort with one or more badges, which accumulate and in turn increase the student's level in the ranking. The latter will be used in an AVA, using an Excel database, to which students can have access at all times, with a wi-fi connection, as readers.

Below are the badges categorized into Skills, Attitudes and Values, and Teamwork, accompanied by a brief description for obtaining them.

Remember that the training approach when evaluating the best strategies that you can implement.

What is Methodology of Project Based Learning?

According to Bernabeu M. and Consúl M. (2019) ''they explain that in problem-based learning it is intended that the student build their knowledge on the basis of problems and real-life situations and that, in addition, do so with the same reasoning process that you will use when you are professional'.'

Taking as support the previous quote, when carrying out a project that is linked to my professional practice, it leads me to a wide panorama of opportunities to observe, identify, analyze, systematize information related to the school context, this new way of carrying out practices Professionals virtually and remotely, show us that opportunities continue to exist and through the use of technologies we can determine different situations also related to the context of the student.

This project began with the selection of the object and the objective, in the first case we refer to Research in the secondary schools of practice in search of identifying a problem and for the second I refer to the Improvement of Practice.

As the next step, a work methodology is chosen, and the development of instruments for data collection in the specified context begins.

At this time, the process is still underway, I am waiting for the data that will enable my selection of the problem, which I will elaborate, through a network of problems ...

Coming soon..

General Objective of the Integrating Project

Design a project that arises from professional practices, where a problem is identified and a proposal is prepared of solution to a certain situation, using the educational competences developed throughout the degree, and also, that the linking of the seven subjects that we take in the fifth semester of Biology are related to the theme of our integrating project.

In order to undertake a project, it is necessary to select a work methodology, which becomes a guide that accompanies you in each step of its development.

In my case I will choose the Methodology of Project Based Learning...

What is the Integrative Project?

Referring to what was said by Tobón S. (2010) '' Integrative projects are incorporated into education as a curricular strategy that allows generating a new way for students to develop skills, which means that they must contemplate opportunities to learn to act holistically and not individually. Every project seeks to address problems in the context, and in that sense it is the most comprehensive strategy for the training and evaluation of competencies. ''
